OK, I see your point, but calling it FWB continually reminds you that it’s going nowhere, <a href="https://magic.ly/insmaifensi">INS买粉</a> and potentially frees you to look for one that is, especially if you’re not spending time trying to “fix” something that’s broken or trying to feel something you don’t feel.
You’re probably not trying (at least not openly anyway) to meet or date anyone else if you consider yourself to be in a relationship, but if you’re telling yourself (successfully) that it’s a FWB situation, then you’re more likely to be putting yourself out there.
So if you take what you said and turn it around, a relationship that is going nowhere is simply a FWB situation, it might actually motivate more people to change their behavior than if they think they can call what they have a relationship and get away with it, despite its inadequacies.

Uh, if you say you’re not a woman but you have all the “right” parts, you might be transsexual. Not sure if that’s the “quacks like a duck” analogy that you were striving for, since it’s a little easier to flip the switch on a FWB-to-relationship transition than it is a gender transition.
